For those of us interested in social media, it's about finding a community of peers, making connections, learning from and supporting each other.

Social Media Breakfast Ottawa wants to help you do this by bringing you interesting, entertaining and timely speakers along with lots of real networking time over our (mostly) monthly breakfasts.

We'll keep the event to within 90 minutes, focusing on providing an opportunity for attendees to meet each other. To spark conversation and discussion, we're pleased to welcome Sean Moffitt to talk to us about Wikibrands.

Wikibrands

Sean will discuss how business is changing in a customer-centric marketplace and what the Wikibrands Manifesto is. He'll illustrate wikibrands by reviewing stories of leading firms he's researched and interviewed for his upcoming Wikibrands book. Lessons here will be of value to you to take back to your own firm as these best practice cases can inform how your own workplace transformation may happen. And Sean will review data on where businesses are generally at that will allow you to benchmark how your firm compares with others.

SMBOttawa

SMBOttawa has been organized and hosted by Simon Chen, Rob Lane and Ryan Anderson since 2008. SMBOttawa's breakfast networking events are inspired and have evolved from the Social Media Breakfast concept started by Bryan Person in Boston:

". . . as an almost-monthly event where social media experts and newbies alike come together to eat, meet, share, and learn. Marketers, PR pros, entrepreneurs, bloggers, podcasters, new media fanatics, and online social networkers are all welcome to attend."
